Hometown girl to defend her title

After playing the first Major of the year and taking a week off the LPGA is back! The stop on tour for this week is Hawaii, where Michelle Wie will try to defend her title at the 2015 LOTTE Championship. Last year Wie won her in third LPGA title in front of her home crowd with 14-under score.

The 2015 edition of LOTTE Championship will be played April 15th thru 18th at the Ko Olina Golf Club in Kapolei, on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu. Past champions Ai Miyazato and Suzann Pettersen are on the field this week too. Ai won the inaugural event in 2012 with a total of 12-under. But it was 2013 winner Suzann who set the tournament record after winning with a solid 19-under.

Notable player on the field this week are Inbee Park, So Yeon Ryu, Brittany Lincicome and Cristie Kerr. After the Qualifier played Sunday, April it was Jing Yan (67) and Pat Hurst (69) who took the two spots left in the field.

Players like Lydia Ko and Stacy Lewis are going to miss this event and won’t be playing until the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic in San Francisco.
