This week’s stop: Jersey Shore

The ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer where American Stacy Lewis will defend here second title of the season will be played May 29 thru 31. The Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club in Galloway, New Jersey will host the tourney where some of the best female golfers will compete for the 2015 trophy.

This is the first event of the year on the LPGA Tour played with 54-hole format.

In 2014 Lewis won her 10th career title with a solid 16-under par, her countrywomen Christina Kim was runner-up with a 10-under par. After this victory last year Stacy was projected to jump into the first spot on the Rolex Rankings and end Inbee Park’s 59-week streak as world’s number one.

Brittany Lincicome, Karrie Webb and Angela Stanford are some of the past champions of the event who will also be playing this week in New Jersey and can be considered among the favorites to take the ShopRite LPGA Classic title. After her outstanding performance at the Kingsmill Championship rookie Alison Lee will have another opportunity to conquer her first LPGA victory this week.
