The LPGA Tour will make a stop at one of France’s paradises, Évian-les-Bains, to play the Evian Championship September 10 thru 13. This will be last major of the season and also the last tournament before embarking into the 2015 Solheim Cup adventure.
Norway’s Suzann Pettersen won the event in its inaugural year as major. Although only three rounds were played in 2013 due to the weather Pettersen was able to put on a ball-striking clinic to add a second major title to her career. New Zealand’s youngster, Lydia Ko, was runner-up during this edition and after her second solo place decided to turn professional.
In the 2014 edition Hyo Joo Kim showed the calm of a veteran and hold off Karrie Webb to win her first LPGA major victory. Kim was one shot back off the lead as she entered the 18th hole and sank a 12-foot birdie putt to take the trophy. With her win Hyo Joo became the third youngest major winner at 19 years, 2 months.

The Major Course
The completely redesigned 5th hole is one of the most pictorial holes on the golf course. The par-5 7th has been lengthened 3 yards. The trees line both sides of the teeing ground and create arguably the most impressive driving hole on the course. The par-5 9th is the shortest par 5 on the golf course and should yield many birdies, as well as give players a realistic chance at eagle. Measuring a massive 442 yards, the par-4 18th is the longest and most demanding par 4 on the golf course.

The field for this week will be completed by a total of 120 players from the LPGA and LET. Three of the expected past champions in the field for the 2015 edition are Inbee Park, Suzann Pettersen and Hyo Joo Kim.
