The LPGA Tour continues it’s Asian Swing and will now head to Malaysia, as they will be competing at the 7th edition of the Sime Darby LPGA. The tournament will be held October 27th thru the 30th at TPC Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Jessica Korda will be the defending champion of the event after winning the 2015 edition by four shots at 18-under par. Jessica managed to hold off Sunday charges from Lydia Ko and Shanshan Feng, both players signed a final round of 66. With her win Korda ended a 18 months drought and conquered her fourth LPGA trophy.
The event is a no cut tournament and will feature a field of 78 players. Na Yeon Choi and Shanshang Feng, past champions of the event will also be part of the field this week in Malaysia. Paula Creamer, Suzann Pettersen and Anna Nordqvist will also be back in action at TPC after playing in the 2016 Mission Hills World Celebrity Pro-Am in China last week.
The event will be played on the East Course, a parkland-style layout featuring numerous lakes, wetlands and sculptured bunkers, demanding accuracy and strategic play. Just last week the men played the CIMB Classic at this same course, where Justin Thomas successfully defended his title at 23-under par.
